  • nDzuti Safari Camp, Maseke Game Reserve

    Greater Kruger Park

nDzuti Safari Camp offers you an exceptional African safari experience. nDzuti safari camp is not a hotel in the bush, but rather our base from where we offer a sojourn into the African Bush to experience and bear witness to the creatures of the wild and their daily dramas that unfold there.

nDzuti Safari Camp is based in the Maseke Game Reserve (Northern Balule) with no boundaries between our concession and the rest of the Klaserie, Timbavati and Greater Kruger Park’s vast block of wilderness.

Animals are free to come and go following ancient routes between breeding and feeding grounds.

    ACCOMMODATION AT nDzuti

Accommodation at nDzuti is a choice between luxury safari tents and two-room chalets. The four luxury safari tents are permanent structures with en-suite bathrooms, doors and not zipped flaps and air conditioning. The tents all have a un-uninterrupted view over the waterhole in front of the camp.

The four chalets have two en-suite bedrooms in each with a central lounge in between. There is a large covered patio out front, ideal accommodation for families or groups of friends traveling together.

    Luxury Safari Tents

Four permanent safari tents have uninterrupted views of the renowned nDzuti water hole. The raised verandas have comfortable outdoor seating for hours of game viewing. The exterior door leads into the tented bedroom – with air conditioning and en-suite bathroom off the back wall under the canvas canopy. The large bathroom has a glassed apex, twin his and her basins on a vanity counter and spacious shower space with twin shower heads. Sleeping arrangements can be configured to an Imperial King Sized or two 3/4 sized twin beds. Bedside lamps and a writing /dressing table add to the comfort. Bull denim curtains hang at the large gauze windows and outside canvas flaps are rolled up for when needed.

    Two Room Chalets

Four chalets with two private en-suite bedrooms, lounge, and patio.

The well-established garden houses four well-spaced chalets, just ideal private space for a group of friends traveling together and needing to catch up or for a family with kids who need quiet time to sleep. The thatched units have a deep covered patio screened from the walk-way with lush greenery and scattered with seating and coffee table. French doors lead into the central lounge with tea and coffee station, wildlife prints and doors into opposite bedrooms. The chalets are cool in summer and cosy in winter. The bathrooms have both a shower and bath. Bricked pathways lead from each chalet to the main dining pavilion and swimming pool with its raised vantage over the camp waterhole.

    PICNICS

Picnics and bush dinners are offered allowing guests to spend the maximum time exploring the bush in search of wildlife encounters.

    DINING

Meals at nDzuti Safari Camp are most often an alfresco affair at the fireside in the boma with twinkling lanterns or in the heat of the day in the shade on the lawn where large trees throw a shadow – name sake of the camp.

History & more about the people behind nDzuti

nDzuti Safari Camp in Maseke Game Reserve; the Balule North area of the Greater Kruger Park is operated by Wildlife Encounters.

This tour operating company is essentially Bruce and Judy Meeser and their team of like-minded enthusiasts.

Bruce and Judy are pioneers in the safari game having started in the early 1980’s in Thornybush Game Reserve and then onto Timbavati where the couple took a two- year sabbatical from tourism and got stuck into some nitty gritty reserve management such as erosion work, burning programmes and managing animal numbers. In 1988 they were awarded a concession in the then-unknown Manyeleti Game Reserve adjacent to the Orpen Gate of the Kruger National Park. They built and operated Khoka Moya Safari camp from which they ran walking safari in 1988 and in 1989 they opened Honeyguide Tented Safari Camp- then, the first luxury tented camp in South Africa. During their 10 years in the Manyeleti Game Reserve, they witnessed the fall of the fences and massive moves towards conservation efforts and themselves formed a volunteer programme for rhino monitoring and conservation.

Transfrontiers Wildlife Walking Safaris was their next venture operating walking trails in reserves along the expanse of Kruger from Manyeleti in the south to the Limpopo River in the north and often in community owned reserves. With a sense of fortune, they find themselves now in the Maseke Game Reserve a section of the Greater Kruger which has recently been awarded to the Maseke local community.
